Easy Q Hook Scarf


Q crochet hook

Use 2 strands of 4-ply worsted weight yarn or 1 strand of thick yarn such as Jiffy Thick and Quick.
Play with different combinations.
This should be flexible so if you used 3 strands for the hat, just use 2 for the scarf.

Row 1: Chain 65-75 depending on the length you want. Work 3 sc in second chain from hook. Work 1 sc in one side loop of each chain. In the last chain work 3 sc. Going down the other side of the chain, work 1 sc in each unused loop of the chain. Slip stitch to join into both loops of 1st sc. Ch 1.

Row 2: Working in back loops only throughout (except for joining slip stitch) 2 sc in the next 3 sc. Work 1 sc in each sc to the end chain. Work 2 sc in each of the 3 sc at the end. Work 1 sc in each sc the rest of the way around. Slip stitch to join into both loops of 1st sc. Ch 1.

Row 3: Working in back loops only throughout (except for joining slip stitch) 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in the next sc - 3 times. Work 1 sc in each sc to the end chain. In the 6 corner turning stitches, 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in the next sc - 3 times. Work 1 sc in each sc the rest of the way around. Slip stitch to join into both loops of 1st sc. Ch 1.

Row 4: Working in back loops only throughout (except for joining slip stitch) 1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc - 3 times. Work 1 sc in each sc to the end chain. In the 9 corner turning stitches, 1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc - 3 times. Work 1 sc in each sc the rest of the way around. Slip stitch to join into both loops of 1st sc. Ch 1.

Row 5: Working in back loops only throughout (except for joining slip stitch) 1 sc in each sc around - keep the corner turning sc on the loose side. Slip stitch to join into both loops of 1st sc. Finish.

Variation:


Fun Fur Scarf:
P crochet hook.

Use 1 strand of Simply Soft and 1 strand of Fun Fur, this has a little more body than just using the fun fur.

Ch 60-65 and work though both loops throughout.
Skip Row 4.

You can get 2 scarves with 3 balls of Fun Fur.
If you run short of Fun Fur, decrease the beginning chains.
